Two "Cool" Store Locations.

All of us at Murphy Jewelers are extremely proud of our two retail locations. Each offers a different, unique, and beautiful shopping experience.

Hamburg, Pennsylvania is the location of our second retail jewelry store. The new store opened its doors on October 4th, 2005. Patrick and Kim’s vision for the Murphy Jewelers of Hamburg is to “provide a unique jewelry shopping experience that is unparalleled in the state of Pennsylvania. The shopping experience starts as you open the door to the entrance where you will discover an 18” foot water wall cascading to a see-through fireplace all inside the 30 foot entryway.

InStore Magazine Cover "...with two waterfalls, a fireplace, and a 30-foot glass atrium that runs along the entire inside of the structure, Murphy Jewelers’ Hamburg store is truly the treasure at the end of the rainbow."

- InStore Magazine / June 2005 Issue

InStore Magazine awarded our Hamburg, PA store as a Cool Store of the Month and later named it one of their Top 10 Coolest Stores in America. As Paul E. Holewa, managing editor of InStore magazine, describes: "cool store owners are those who embrace the philosophy of putting customers first and making the shopping experience memorable."

All the designer jewelry is displayed in custom-made cherry wood showcases. There is 200 linear feet of exquisite jewelry and watches on display in the 6700 square foot store. The in-store environment is enhanced by a 28 foot atrium skylight which runs the entire length of the store. The entire store was built around a 6,000 pound walk-in vault. The subtle tones and color combinations, along with the waterfall and fireplace provides a relaxing environment designed to relax and soothe.

Our Pottsville location's historic essence will forever represent our roots and symbolize the long and treasured past of our business. The doors were opened for the first time in 1913 by Frank J. Murphy, Patrick’s grandfather, under the name Murphy Jewelers and Optometry. The original location was across from Pottsville City Hall. Business was conducted back then by going door to door in a horse and buggy repairing school house clocks.

Our Schuylkill County store's continued evolution and maturation over time very similarly parallels that of our company itself. From a modest and simple yet passionate beginning, this store has carried our business to a level we're very proud of. Over 90 years later, our Pottsville store serves as the foremost showcase of our image. It tells the story of how and where we began, and epitomizes a rich history of dedicated to the creation of a shopping experience second to none.

The story of our retail locations cannot end with just the buildings, decorations, merchandise, and equipment. The people inside, our staff, complete the experience and accompany your journey into the Murphy Jewelers shopping experience. We make it our goal to deliver an outstanding environment through thoughtful, friendly and empowered staff members whose first goal is to make our customers feel at home and welcome in our store.
